I was never that enthusiastic about valeting, until today. It's something that I would never have sought out myself, but this was 'freebie'. Long story, but it involved a leaking new windscreen being fitted to my my car, and the auto glass company kissing and making up. That they certainly did ( well, not the kissing ).
They sent this guy out from a valeting company in Dublin and he spent 3 hours at it ( interior only, though he did blacken the tyres for me ). The interior looked like it had just come out of the factory - absolutely amazing. He even found two £1 coins and a 20p, from before the Euro currency was introduced ( 2001? ). I had given the interior several of what I thought were 'thorough' cleanings, but never found them!
It's not something for every day, but I'd certainly consider getting this done every year from now on. I've no idea what the cost was, but whatever it was, it was probably worth it. There are, I believe, lots of 'cowboys' out there who have no clue about what they are doing. This guy certainly knew his stuff, and he turned my 1994 car into something which looks about 3 months old.
PS: On an unrelated note, I saw on the T.V. that some guys in a 4x4 ram - raided a convenience store in Co. Cavan. I find that hard to believe. Surely no Cavan person has the energy or motivation to do something like that?
